Chessbase sponsors ICCF World Correspondence Chess Championship

Tuesday, September 16, 2008: prizes for all event winners

We are delighted to announce that Chessbase now sponsors our World Correspondence Chess Championship by providing prizes to tournament winners.

All stages including Preliminary, Semifinals, Candidates and Finals as well as the Ladies World Championship are included. The sponsorship applies to all events with start date on or after September 1^st, 2007.

The prizes will consist of Chessbase products, shipping will be free of charge. The value of the prizes will be determined by ICCF depending on the number of events started each year. Chessbase has provided an allowance of 1,000 Euros per year.

There are currently 35 ongoing events that started between September 1, 2007 and August 31, 2008. Events started after August 31, 2008 will be included in next year's allowance.

The prize allocated for these events will be as follows:

-         One issue of the Chessbase Magazine or 22 Euros in any other Chessbase product for each winner of the 3 Ladies semifinals, 11 Preliminaries, and 12 Semifinals

-         Two issues of the Chessbase Magazine or 47 Euros in any other Chessbase product for each winner of the 7 Candidates and 2 Finals
