Chess 960 event: Match Russia – Rest of the World

Team captains: Nikolay Poleshchuk (Russia) and Artis Gaujens, Latvia (World).

Tournament Director: Eric Ruch, IA, the ICCF president.

Each ICCF member federation (excluding Russia) may nominate 1 main player and 1 reserve player for the World team. The reserve players will be included if there will be lack of players from other countries.

Number of boards will be defined by the captains using lists of nominations.

Players within each team will be distributed between the boards according to the classic ratings valid on January 1, 2014. Starting positions will be different between the boards.

On each board two games will be played from the same initial position, one with White pieces, one with Black pieces.

Time control is 10 moves in 40 days. The games are rated in chess 960 rating system. Starting values are taken from the classic rating list on January 1, 2014.

The start date will be February 1, 2014.

Nominations from national federations (excluding Russia) should be sent to Artis Gaujens (artis@latnet.lv) up to December 15, 2013, with copy to Nikolay Poleshchuk (poleshchuk@peterlink.ru).
