How to Communicate with Players

Principle

Officials may communicate with players either through system messages or via players' email addresses.

Practice

  1. For system messages, select Authoring/Create Message (assuming you have the necessary permissions).

    Key in the text you want to display on the welcome page, then click Submit to post the message.
    Select Authoring/Message List to edit or remove system messages.

  2. For event messages, select Event List/Event/Control/Email All Players.

    The system automatically places all the player email addresses for this event in the 'To' box of your email client.
    You then write your message, send it, and store it in your 'Sent' mail in the usual way.

  3. For individual messages, select Event List/Event/Control/Player/Email.

    The system automatically places the player email address you selected in the 'To' box of your email client.
    You then write your message, send it, and store it in your 'Sent' mail in the usual way. This is disabled in postal events.

Webserver Actions

The system displays system messages in the welcome screen area for all designated players to read.

Email messages are stored in the sender's outbox and the receiver's inbox and not on the system.
